Unleash your imagination as you journey through the wide-ranging world of LEGO® building. Working in pairs, students will build models and discuss the engineering science behind each creation. This engaging, hands-on class shows how engineering can be both silly and educational at the same time. Students will then be challenged to improve and customize their designs for added creativity. Possible projects include the never-look-back machine, skittletops, do-nothing machine, coat hanger daredevil, trapdoor cable car, parachute machine, rubber band racer, and other wild contraptions.

Become a Pokémon master of 3D design by creating your very own Pokémon characters with TinkerCAD. Students will explore CAD modeling, experiment with shapes and features, and bring their digital creatures to life with 3D printers. Along the way, they will also experiment with SimLab and design Pokémon-themed video games, combining creativity with hands-on technology. The class introduces the basics of CAD modeling and design software while encouraging imagination and exploration. Each student will have two small printed designs sent home. Up, up and away! Enjoy fun remote-control drones charged from solar power. Your student will build a solar powered charging station for their drone. When their drone runs out of juice, they can simply charge it anywhere outdoors with their solar charging station. When students are done building, they will challenge other students with their drone. In the end, students will take home a mini drone and their newly built charging station.
