This course is best suited for 10 to 13-year-olds interested in learning the current practices of caring for young children and how to manage their babysitting business. Students will learn safety and injury prevention, CPR, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants and how to handle behavior problems. Students receive a reference book, handouts, babysitting bag and first aid kit.

Be more prepared for kindergarten! Experience a glimpse of kindergarten through summer camp. Activities will balance play and learning, and may include trying out the routine, exploring the outdoor learning sites and inside classrooms/pods and playground, getting to know each other through games, practice sitting and following directions, student initiated activities, access to maker spaces and/or technology and innovation opportunities, and more. This program is designed for students that will enter kindergarten in Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools in September 2026.

¡Bienvenidos a Kinder! The 2026-27 La ola del lago Kindergartners will get a glimpse of the Spanish Immersion experience all while building/reviewing their basic Spanish vocabulary for classroom objects, colors, and numbers. This is an exciting opportunity for you to get to know teachers, the building, and the language before the start of the school year. Each day will have a different theme. We will read a book about the theme, make a craft about the theme and play a game with that theme- all in Spanish. Camp is open to students entering Kindergarten at La ola del lago.

First Aid and Safety Trained Kids is a 4-hour course for 7 to 10-year-olds. This course helps prepare children for staying safe at and away from home. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, stranger and internet safety. Students will receive a book, handouts and a home first aid kit as part of the class.

Math-by-Mail is expanding its options to do math! How exciting! We continue to serve upper elementary through 9th grade. Not only are we offering our predetermined set of 8 packets, we will also offer an ala carte menu! Our added approach allows for individual choice regarding the skills and concepts students and parents can request to build math confidence. Still an 8 week course with a self paced approach! Student completed packets should be mailed (USPS) to Math-by-Mail. We will then provide feedback and return corrected packets to students via USPS. As always the goal of Math-by-Mail is to provide rich content to maintain mathematical understanding! Communication after the packets are sent out will be via email.
