Sideline Cheer (Gr. 7-12) - NEW!

Are you energetic, enthusiastic, and ready to cheer on the Lakers? Prior Lake High School Sideline Cheer is open to current students in grades 7–12. Cheerleaders are selected through tryouts and perform at PLHS winter sports events, including varsity basketball, varsity hockey, Unified sports, and more. Our program helps students build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills while creating a strong foundation for high school and beyond. Cheerleaders will learn and perform stunts, cheers, dance, tumbling, jumps, and more—all while bringing a positive attitude and plenty of school spirit. The team also participates in community activities and provides a fun, supportive environment for everyone.

Free open gyms to help students prepare for tryouts will be held at Prior Lake High School from 3:15–5 p.m. on October 12, October 21, October 26, and November 2. Please bring a water bottle to open gyms and tryouts.

A mandatory parent meeting will take place on Monday, November 2, at 5 p.m. to discuss the program and financial commitment.

Try-outs are November 4, at 3:15-5 pm

Practices begin Monday, November 9, and will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15–5 p.m. Game dates and times will be announced as they become available.

For open gyms and tryouts, please wear athletic shorts, a T-shirt, and tennis or cheer shoes. Hair must be pulled back in a ponytail and away from the face. No jewelry is allowed. Come ready to work hard, have fun, and show your Laker pride!
